This is , doing my mate a nice favor... because she asked me too. x]
(I'm not used to not coding my journal all spiffyish like I usually do, lulz).


Currently, Riko's MacBook Pro (and I stress this fact) is in the shop. She has a late 2007 model, one that has had several issues, one of which being motherboard failure.

One morning last week, she turned on her computer and it wouldn't turn on -- entirely. The drive operated, but the Mac "bong" did not play, and the screen would not turn on.
Ironically, this was the day that a tech person on campus was going to come by and try to fix what's preventing her from playing Second Life. :/

I know many people have suggestions and reasons and all that, but she literally tried everything -- even suggestions from all over the internet that her friends found.

So she sent it home and it was taken in to the Mac store. Turns out, the motherboard failed. Thankfully, this manufacturing error has given owners of this specific year's model an extended warranty, so she does not have to pay for the motherboard replacement.

She's getting Snow Leopard, though, so it's gonna be about $30, thanks to the fact that she already owns Leopard. So $30 for an OS upgrade and motherboard replacement... that's actually nice. About time she's getting the deal for all the crap that her computer has been going through.


So that's what's going on. The computer will -- hopefully -- be returned by this Friday, so she's having to deal without it all this time, something that I know is extremely difficult.
