Meaning: Closely translated to "Watchful Earth guardian that you cannot imagine"

Gerrahari Cocheta resides in the deep jungles of South America. In the past, she was the Guardian of the Mayan people, who revered her as royal and she could walk around the streets as she pleased. In return for the Mayan's respect and worship, Gerrahari watched over the city and the surrounding villages, often perching atop one of the great Mayan structures and surveying the land before her. However, when white, billowing sails caught her eye on the horizon, she knew that this glorious city would soon fall. She left the city and flew towards the shoreline. Hidden in the trees, she looked on as the white sails drew closer and closer. The ships anchored off shore and smaller boats began moving towards the shore. To her shock and dismay, two Mayans timidly approached the smaller boats that had now reached land. A large, pale-skinned man stepped off one of the boats and the Mayans fell to their knees. Gerrahari recoiled in betrayal. They had found a new idol and she was certain that she would be forgotten. These new men smelled of smoke and metal. Retreating further into the trees, Gerrahari returned to the Mayan City one last time. She walked through the streets once more, and the people threw wreaths of flowers in her path as they did every time she passed. She would miss these people, but she was painfully aware that if she did not leave now, the pale men would destroy her, for she could smell the selfishness on their flesh. She went into hiding for several years, hundred of miles away from the city. She grew lonely and merely wished to return and see the glorious city in which she once lived. At dawn the following morning, she spread her wings and began her journey back to the Mayan City. Upon returning, all she found were ruins. All of the gold, the splendor and the colors had gone. Vines choked out the market place, and the temples were stripped of their jewels. No one was there to toss flowers at her feet; no one left to recognize that she had come back. Gerrahari remained at the Mayan ruins, still perched atop the highest pyramid, watching over the deserted city.

So yeah, about Gerrahari Cocheta. I realized recently that I only have ONE female Dragon character, and that is Riko. The urge was thrown upon me to create another. This is the result. I am very very VERY happy with how she came out. Her color scheme is a drastic change from my usual style, but I like all the colors. Her background story was inspired by a dream that my mom, :devAmathyst-Rain-Dragon:, had last night actually. I’m hoping that she'll write it down because it was reeeeallllyyy cool >.<
I made the story off the top of my head and I’ll probably change some things later once i'm more confident with what I want in her story. Other than that, I am very proud of this new character and i'm glad to state that she is the newest member in my family of characters.
